WELCOME TO SARLOU STUDIO

Hi there!

I’m Sarah, a graphic designer and photographer based in Ringwood. Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I've been drawing since I could pick a crayon up.

My inspirations come from abstraction, automotives, and the modern design. I love crafting abstract branding that encourages viewers to ponder the design and uncover its hidden meanings, innovative packaging design and modern publications. My passion for cars also shines through in my photography along side with my creativity in light art.

Right now, I'm in my final year at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, where I'm pursuing a Bachelor of Design with a major in Communication and a minor in Photomedia. I'm particularly passionate about branding, packaging, publication, image making, and photography. I'm also excited to broaden my horizons and develop my skills by exploring new mediums and taking on fresh challenges.

THE DESIGN PROCESS |

THE DESIGN PROCESS |

My design process as a neurodivergent is to sit down with the client and delve into what they want, their expectations, considerations and constraints. We can then start to identify and articulate the issues we aim to address.

Then the research and analysis stage begin. This encompasses researching communication strategy, market trends, the target audience, user personas, competitors and visual identity. This phase is crucial for guiding design choices to that meet your requirements.

The ideation stage where we engage in brainstorming to explore a diverse array of ideas and potential solutions, includes sketching, mind mapping, and brainstorming sessions.

We then move to concept development where we choose 3 most viable ideas and further develop them. Create initial prototypes or mock-ups to illustrate how these concepts could function in real-world scenarios. Construction of prototypes are then constructed. These may vary and included paper sketches, interactive digital designs, physical mock-ups.

The next essential stage is feedback from potential end users with our prototypes, gathering observations from their interactions, both the positive and the negative which then allows me to refine and improve the concept designs for presentation to you the client.

This process may involve several cycles of testing and iteration to arrive at the most effective solution, and regular consultation with you the client.

We like to reflection and create insights on the entire process to determine what was successful and what could be improved. Leveragin these insights to enhance future design initiatives.
